In the world of construction, few things are as rewarding as seeing a dream turn into reality. At Faulkner Construction, that’s been our way of life since 1981 – building architecturally designed homes across Auckland and Tauranga, and backing our people to grow into the very best in the industry.
We’ve built a reputation for taking on the “tough jobs” – and doing them right. But more than that, we’re proud to be recognised as one of the most awarded and respected Master Builders in New Zealand. And this year, it was one of our youngest team members who took centre stage.
Apprentice of the Year - Jack Nevines
At the recent Registered Master Builders Apprentice of the Year Awards (Auckland and Northern Region), our very own Jack Nevines was named Regional Apprentice of the Year – a massive achievement and a proud moment for our entire team.
Jack is employed by Faulkner Construction and trained through BCITO - a division of Te Pūkenga, New Zealand’s national vocational training provider. His win is a direct reflection of the values we live every day: craftsmanship, work ethic, and a team culture that supports people to thrive.
Building more than homes
At Faulkner Construction, we believe our role goes far beyond the job site. We’re here to grow good humans – not just good builders.
Mentoring the next generation is central to how we operate. From in-depth training and on-site coaching to working alongside seasoned tradespeople and experienced project managers, our apprentices learn what it really means to deliver quality at every level.
And it shows. Jack’s recognition is just the latest in a long line of accolades that speak to the culture of excellence we’re proud to foster.
A legacy of craftsmanship
Our track record in the Master Builders House of the Year Awards says it all:
2x Auckland Overall Award Winners
National Outdoor Living Award
5x Gold Reserve Awards
9x Gold Awards
3x Silver Awards
1x Bronze Award
Whether we’re restoring a heritage villa, delivering an architectural new build, or mentoring the next Jack Nevines, we bring the same commitment to doing the job right.
Our ‘Building Family’
Our team is what makes us. From the builders on site to the project and financial managers at our Howick head office, we take a collaborative approach that lifts everyone involved – clients, team, and partners alike.
We call it our building family, and it’s this environment that allows apprentices like Jack to grow, contribute, and succeed.
Looking ahead
As the construction industry evolves, we believe mentorship must stay at the heart of it. We don’t just want to build great homes – we want to build great careers, great teams, and a stronger industry overall.
Congratulations again to Jack Nevines on this outstanding achievement – and thank you to the wider Faulkner team for always bringing their best.
