Managing Director
With a career that spans engineering, global business, and leadership in both corporate and hands-on environments, Ross McConnell brings strategic vision and operational clarity to Faulkner Construction.
Armed with a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a civil engineering degree from the University of Canterbury, Ross leads the company with a rare combination of commercial acumen and respect for the craft of building.
From shaping long-term strategy and brand direction to developing people and culture, Ross ensures Faulkner is not just building award-winning architectural homes, but also building a business ready to thrive for decades to come.

Founder & Director
Ross Faulkner founded Faulkner Construction in 1981 and has spent more than 40 years shaping the standard for architectural building in New Zealand. A Master Builder and former President of Auckland Master Builders, Ross also served for over a decade on BCITO’s national Carpentry Advisory Group, where his contribution to training and industry development was widely recognised.
Ross brings deep practical knowledge, steady leadership, and a genuine belief in developing people. His lifelong dedication to apprenticeships, mentoring, and up-skilling has helped create a culture that values Pride and Excellence, Unleashing Potential, and Building Family.
Today, he focuses on guiding site leaders, supporting the team, and ensuring every project reflects the craftsmanship and care that have defined his name for nearly 50 years.
